Active Learning Sciences took Alias, its AI tutoring platform, into a new student program with a learner experience rebuilt in five weeks.
What Kodeful did
Kodeful took over day-to-day development of Alias alongside the client's own developer, working from a shared board the ALS team uses to report issues and approve changes. In five weeks we rebuilt the learner experience, gave instructors control over how students move through a course, and fixed the editing problems their designers hit every day, ahead of the College Onramps launch.
The problem
Alias was already running with real courses, but its student side had been built around the engineering, not the learner. Students could not see how far they had come in a course, modules could not be opened in a set order, and instructional designers lost time on small editing problems every day. A new program, College Onramps, was about to put first-time students on the platform, many of them on phones.
Where they are now
The College Onramps program started on Alias in October 2026, and the work continues weekly on new features for students and course designers.
